Tips For Controlling Your Portion

Health problems that are resulting from over weight and fast food have been rapidly increasing these days. Not only health problems are the main issue concerning the bulk food, but the chronic overweight
disease has resulted in dangerous health cases and heart dysfunction. Some people don’t understand the culture of eating and how to eat only the appropriate amount that is necessary for their bodies to function well. Also the waste-not and clean-your-plate cultures can be considered basic factors within such problem.
Here are some easy ways to keep your portions under control:
1- drink good amounts of water daily and especially before eating as it helps filling your stomach and giving you the “full” feeling.
2- using small plates to control the amounts is a brilliant way for reducing the portion since your brain doesn’t usually concentrate in the plate size while eating, it just concentrates in the food.
3- using chopsticks is one of the ways used to slow your eating manner and hence; it helps you eat less and feel full with less amounts.
4- avoid loading your table with several dishes and give yourself enough time to eat, and take break by serving your food as different dishes and not all at once as it is distracting and hence; it drives you to eat much.
5-begin eating with salad and wait for awhile to allow your body get the benefits from the vegetables, also meat and carbohydrates shouldn’t be served as a main dish; always begin with vegetables.
6-never starve yourself because that technique usually slows the metabolism rate and drives the body to stock more fats. Eat several times a day and eat small amounts of fruits of vegetables, and try to follow the same manner in the basic 3 meals.
7- don’t watch TV while eating as you will be concentrating in what you watch and not the food. such manner usually distracts your mind and hence you won’t notice how much you eat.
8- preparing your own meals is a very good way to feel full as many people easily get that feeling while looking for long to their food. you should also think of the food while eating; how it was prepared, which nutrients it contains, etc. it will help you eat slowly, eat less and feel full.
